Sumo baby products

Project for the Design Communication Arts certificate program at UCLA Extension.

Conceptual branding and packaging designs for a fictional line of baby products. The product's key feature is its toughness and durability, therefore I chose the name Sumo. Also the similarities of the imagery of a sumo wrestler and a baby in diapers was amusing.

This entire school project was created using Illustrator CS6, Photoshop CS6, Sketch Up, pictures I took of existing products, and found images from the internet.

The logo's type is based on the Modern Unicase Medium typeface that's been slightly modified to feel shorter and chubbier. The baby was drawn by me and then cleaned up in Illustrator.

The pattern found on the back of packaging and the front of the pacifier packaging consists of repeated line drawings of a sumo ring if viewed from above.
